NEWS…AUGUST
It’s the International Festival of Glass bienale returns this year and is being held at The World of Glass in St. Helens on the 27th & 31St of August. There will be exhibitions, activities and talks across the event… follow the link for more information. I’m hoping to visit with a fellow glassy friend so will report back here!
As part of the celebrations this year, the glass Quarter in Stourbridge are holding a Celecbration of Glass from 21st - 23rd August with exhibitions and events going on at the Ruskin Glass Centre, Stourbridge Glass Museum and the Red Cone Glass centre, It’s here starting 22nd August to 22nd October Blowfish Gallery are hosting a celebration of contemporary glass through the launch of the Fifteen x Fifteen exhibition. The challenge for artists was to submit a unique pieces of glass art no larger than 15cm H x 15cm W x 15cm D! There were over 140 applications from all over the world and I’m thrilled to announce that I have been selected with my piece ‘Onaka Ga Suita’ which uses symbolism and metaphors around the topics of infertility, family and legacy.
UPCOMING EVENTS…
My first event after the summer sees me exhibiting at the Autumn Artisan Fair at Beaumanor Hall, Leicestershire, LE12 8TX on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th of October… this is a lovely venue in a rural setting and with plentiful free parking. It’s my first time exhibiting at this event so I’m looking forward to seeing some new faces. Hours are 10am - 3pm and there will be an entry fee.
